Data Integration, an Xchanging company, awarded contract from Imperial College London to provision Data Centre 10 Gigabit Backbone switches
LONDON, 29 May 2012 – Imperial College London has awarded Xchanging (LSE: XCH), the business process and technology services provider and integrator, a contract for network access switches to provide 10Gb connectivity in the data centre. The contract was won by Xchanging’s network and systems integration company, Data Integration, following a rigorous tender process. The contract includes infrastructure and ongoing support.
The solution consists of high density, low latency switches from Extreme Networks. The Summit X670 series provides intelligent switching and routing with exceptional high-performance stacking technology for next generation data centres — with dedicated 40 Gigabit Ethernet uplink capabilities powered by the ExtremeXOS modular OS. This footprint along with the technical specification of the solution provides Imperial College London with the scale, flexibility and resilience required.
